About this Course
This course comprehensively prepares students to administer remedial massage to clients experiencing soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance and restrictions in range of motion.
Students will undertake practical training at our modern, spacious Brisbane clinic located on-campus at Brisbane Technology Park. The clinic is open to the public so students have the opportunity to conduct massage practice on their peers as well as members of the public, resulting in an authentic learning experience.
What You’ll Learn:
Minimum age of 18 years
Year 11 Australian Senior High School Certificate, or equivalent (e.g. completion of Year 12 or High School in the students home country) with full academic results.
Lower-Intermediate English (equivalent to 4.5 academic or general IELTS)
Photo ID and evidence of citizenship (international students must provide copy of passport)
Students on this course require computer access for learning purposes and to complete course assessments. As such, learners must have beginner/intermediate computing skills including use of Microsoft Office programmes, in addition to hardware requirements of a desktop or portable computer with keyboard, pointing device, speaker, web camera and microphone, and a broadband internet connection.
Students who are unable to meet the academic or English language criteria may in some cases be eligble to undertake our Language, Literacy & Numeracy (LLN) test. Criteria may change at any time without notice. Additional English language requirements may apply to international applicants from non-English speaking backgrounds wishing to articulate on a visa package into a university programme.

About this Course:
NIET’s Diploma of Remedial Massage offers a formal national qualification recognised by the following major Massage & Myotherapy Australia approved associations – an important consideration for those seeking health fund criteria.
– Australian Natural Therapists Association (ANTA)
– Australian Traditional Medicine Society (ATMS)
This course comprehensively prepares students to administer remedial massage to clients experiencing soft tissue dysfunction, musculoskeletal imbalance and restrictions in range of motion.
Students will learn to establish and maintain client relationships, assess client needs, provide massage treatments, provide specialised remedial massage treatments, and manage legal and ethical compliance.
Elective units provide the opportunity to learn additional skills including the instructing exercise to young and old people, develop strength and conditioning programs, and adapt remedial massage practice for athletes.
This course has a minimum of 20 scheduled face to face contact hours on campus per week PLUS Clinic Hours.
To graduate with a Diploma of Remedial Massage, students must have a record of having completed at least 200 practical hours on campus.
Note: Completing components in private clinics and/or shop fronts is not considered student clinical practicum hours, training or on campus by the Health Funds.
Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) must meet the minimum duration period of 12 months for the Diploma of Remedial Massage as indicated above.

Jan is a Trainer & Assessor of the Remedial Massage Diploma program at the Hobart Campus of NIET. In addition to his role as a trainer, Jan also works as a Remedial Massage Therapist and volunteers for Ambulance Tasmania, showcasing his commitment to helping others.
Jan has attained several qualifications in Australia, highlighting his commitment to professional development and expertise in his field. He holds a Certificate IV in Massage Therapy, which indicates his proficiency in providing massage treatments. He has also achieved a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, enabling him to effectively educate and assess students in the field of massage therapy. Furthermore, Jan possesses a Diploma of Remedial Massage, which signifies his advanced knowledge and skills in the practice of remedial massage techniques.
