Course Overview

  • Bring diverse people together with an Advanced Diploma of Interpreting & Translating. This course prepares students to translate special purpose texts and convey information between languages with significant equivalence problems.

    Students will learn to negotiate assignments, apply codes and standards to professional judgement, edit texts, and ensure quality control of translations conducted by themselves and others.

    Elective units provide the opportunity to learn additional skills including translating multimedia materials, using modern translation technologies, and translating special purpose texts.

  • The training package does not have any entry requirement, but NIET’s specific course entry requirements are:

    • Diploma or higher qualification

    • IELTS score of 6 or equivalent; or
    • Pass NIET entry test
